Lanzarote

I’ve been to Lanzarote before and if there’s one thing I remembered about it, it was the fact that I adored it. I’ve wanted to share that experience for quite some time with Janice so we booked our flight and arranged a rental car. Trough Airbnb we found such a nice and quiet place in the middle of nowhere that had everything we needed.

We stayed for a week and I lost my heart again. Then and there. I lost it to driving for hours on endless roads and only seeing beauty. I lost it to the tranquillity of this place. To no traffic jams and to it’s pure roughness. To hiking towards giant volcanoes and feeling black sand between my toes. To the most amazing sunsets and to the ease of it all. We’re all so small compared to the beauty of it and I had so much trouble not being able to capture it to the fullest. Many times I told Janice I just wanted to grab the island, fold it and take it back with me in my backpack. It made me feel humble to be here so many times and to be honest I loved that overwhelming feeling.

If I had to pick one island and stay there forever, it would be this one.
