Never been there, but from what I’ve heard it was the ‘master of Scandinavian design’, so I was quite curious. We hopped on the plane straight towards the city just before new year’s eve and were truly surprised by the cold when we arrived. I think we literally ran to our hotel when we got out of the station.

A few hours later I could have never guessed the Copenhagens were so enthusiastic for new year’s. At midnight there were fireworks everywhere. We enjoyed the cold touching our bones, standing in the crowd and looking up to the sky.

The day after the streets were covered in leftovers from the party the night before. We managed to do some sight seeing in the next couple of days and I think we both absolutely loved the botanical garden, the somewhat alternative Vesterbro and the authentic area around Nyhaven. We enjoyed delicious foods and drooled all over amazing shops like Notre Dame and other design stores.

A couple of days later we rented a car and fell in love with the tranquility and nature of Denmark.
